Eating Out
Who gets the money’s worth when we all eat out?
Guests: Tom Bruce, Central Coast Food and Beverage
They say we all, being average, spend $2,700 per year here in the United States eating out. There being 316 million of us averages, that means we eat up over $853 billion a year eating out.
If we stop to think about it, $853 billion is a lot of money to be sitting there on the table waiting to be gobbled up.
Manta, a web search company, lists 1,110,831 restaurants in the United States. If such is the case, and if we were to divide the average money we spend eating out by the restaurants listed in Manta, we would find, after scratching out all the zeros, that the average restaurant to be serving out about $768,000 worth of food per year.
All this food being served up, for all that money, leads us to ask…
Who gets the money’s worth when we all eat out?
