Guest: Mischa Popoff, Author, Is It Organic?
In 2015, the World Health Organization declared that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller, was a probable cause of cancer.
In 2018, the German pharmaceutical and life sciences giant Bayer AG purchased Monsanto for $63 Billion dollars.
In 2020, Bayer AG agreed, without admitting guilt, to pay out nearly $10 billion dollars to settle roughly 125,000 claims that its Roundup weedkiller caused non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Also in 2020, Bayer AG agreed to set aside another $1.25 billion to cover a separate class action agreement for future claims.
