FOOD VALUES: TO FEED A CHILD TO 18
Where can one get the most food value for the least food dollars?
Guest: Lauren Greutman, Home Economist and Mother of Four
This just in from the United States Department of Agriculture: “Parents Projected to Spend $245,340 to Raise a Child Born in 2013.” Adjusting for inflation, like they do in Venezuela and
Argentina, that is $304,480 in U.S. Dollars to raise child to 18.
This projection for the cost to raise a child would likely challenge the budget of all but a few young parents, but what if the young parents have four children to raise, and with but one income to raise them?
That Lady, Lauren Greutman, and husband Mark, decided they could raise their family of four on Mark’s income alone, if Lauren learned how to budget, shop, and save. In doing so, Lauren became a self taught expert in the art of home economics, and author of “How to Coupon Effectively.”
Given Lauren’s expertise, we ask: Where can one get the most food value for the least food dollars?
